Media Release October 21, 2025

On October 21, 2025, the Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to a Peel Street address just after 6:00am for a report of a disturbance.  Upon arrival a male was located lying on the gravel driveway suffering from unknown injuries.

The investigation revealed that an argument between the victim and a second male inside an apartment turned physical, resulting in the victim sustaining serious injuries.  Paramedics were called and the 35-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital and eventually transported to Sunnybrook Hospital for advanced care.

A male was taken into custody, and the scene was held while the investigation was completed by the Criminal Investigations Branch. The victim and the accused were known to each other and there is no risk to public safety.

A 29-year-old Lindsay man was charged with Aggravated Assault.  He was held in custody and brought before the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay for a bail hearing.
