Assault-Style Firearms Compensation Program
The nation-wide declaration period for the federal government’s Assault-Style Firearms Compensation program began on January 19, 2026. The Kawartha Lakes Police Service is not currently participating in this program and will not be offering any scheduled collection appointments.
Those who wish to participate in the program by declaring or turning in their firearms are invited to visit the Public Safety Canada website here:
