Media Release October 9, 2025 - Assault & Mischief
On October 8, 2025, the Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to a William Street North home just after 2:00pm for a report of a male lying in the driveway unable to move after being assaulted.
Responding officers learned that shortly before their arrival an argument took place inside the home. A guest exited the residence, and using a tool nearby, damaged an outbuilding and vehicle parked in the driveway belonging to a resident. The 64-year-old victim attempted to stop the suspect and was physically assaulted resulting in injuries. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
A description was broadcast to responding units who located the accused nearby and placed him under arrest. The victim was transported to Ross Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 34-year-old male from Lindsay, ON was charged with:
· Assault Causing Bodily Harm
· Mischief x 2
He was held in custody and brought before the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay for a show cause bail hearing.
