Media Release January 19, 2026 - Impaired

A 41-year-old male from Little Britain has been charged with Impaired Operation following a traffic investigation on January 17, 2026.

At approximately 1:00 p.m., police received a traffic complaint in the area of Elm Tree Road and Cross Creek Road in Lindsay, after a single vehicle had gone off the roadway and into a ditch.

The responding officer observed that the driver showed signs of impairment by alcohol. As a result of the investigation, the male was placed under arrest and transported to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service. The accused provided samples of his breath to a qualified breath technician, which were found to be twice the legal limit.

The accused was charged with:

·        Operation While Impaired — alcohol and drugs

·        Operation While Impaired — blood alcohol concentration 80 plus

The vehicle the accused was operating was impounded and his driver’s licence was suspended.

He was released from custody with a future court date.
