Break and Enter arrest
On Thursday May 26, 2022 at 10:09am Kawartha Lakes Police received an alarm call to a residential building on Lindsay Street North in Lindsay. The alarm was activated when an individual broke into the building through a window. Once inside, when confronted by a security officer the individual assaulted and threatened the officer. The individual left the scene before police arrived, was located and arrested a short time later. 22-year-old Michaela Davey of Lindsay has been charged with break, enter a place with intent to commit indictable offence, utter threats to cause death or bodily harm, assault and fail to comply with probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 27, 2022.
Shoplifter arrested
On Thursday May 26, 2022 at 4:37pm Kawartha Lakes Police responded to a Kent Street West business for a reported shoplifter. Store staff observed the individual select items and leave the store without paying. When officers arrived, the individual was in custody and officers continued the arrest. It was learned at the time of the arrest that the individual was wanted on a warrant. 33-year-old Troy Sprague has been charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and fail to comply with probation. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on July 7, 2022.
