Child pulled from Scugog river

On Saturday May 21, 2022 at 1:06pm Kawartha Lakes Police received a report of a young child in the Scugog River in the area of Colborne Street West in Lindsay.

Police responded immediately and found the child submerged in the water up to the neck. The responding officer was able to walk out on some rocks and pull the child from the water to safety.

The child was transported to hospital by Kawartha Lakes EMS, assessed and released.

 

Arrest made for break and enter

On Monday May 23, 2022 at 12:12pm police were called to a Bridle Road address in Lindsay for a break and enter in progress.

The homeowners were away at the time of the occurrence. A family member who was checking the residence, found an unknown individual inside. The individual had been in the residence for an undetermined period of time and had ransacked throughout.  Police arrived and arrested 31-year-old Tyler Underhill of Lindsay. The accused has been charged with break, enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence, mischief destroys or damages property and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on June 7, 2022.
