One Charged with Impaired Driving Following Accident

On May 27, 2022, at 6:40 PM, a citizen contacted Kawartha Lakes Police after observing a motor vehicle drive onto a sidewalk, narrowly missing two pedestrians. Moments later, another person called police after observing the vehicle strike a parked car on Colborne Street. A third witness observed the same vehicle hit another parked vehicle on Pottinger Street. The vehicle failed to remain at either accident location.

A short time late, officers located the suspect vehicle with extensive damage. A suspect was apprehended for impaired driving and returned to the police station for an Intoxilyzer examination.

27-year-old Jennifer Challice of Lindsay is charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation with a Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80, and two counts of Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident.
