Impaired driver arrested
On Sunday June 4, 2023 at approximately 4:45pm the Kawartha lakes Police responded to a York Street parking lot for a report of a female in the driver’s seat of a vehicle hunched over the steering wheel. Officers located the vehicle which was running, the female driver was asleep behind the wheel. While speaking with the driver officers observed signs of impairment and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the station for a drug influence evaluation conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert. During the investigation, officers located a small quantity of drugs in the vehicle. 34-year-old Cannington women is charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and possession of a schedule I substance X3. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on July 13, 2023.
Investigative update
Kawartha Lakes Police are seeking assistance to identify the suspect involved in theft of purse from female walking on Kent Street West in Lindsay reported May 13, 2023. The suspect (pictured below) was captured on video surveillance running northbound on York Street, onto the trail system.
