Theft investigation

The Kawartha Lakes Police Service is investigating after receiving a report of a stolen purse. On Saturday May 13, 2023 the complainant was walking on Kent Street West in Lindsay when a male grabbed her purse and fled. A witness followed the male and was able to recover the stolen purse. The suspect was last seen running north on York Street. The suspect is described as, male, 25- 30 years old, 5’8” tall, 160lbs – 170lbs, dark coloured beard, wearing a blue top and a red and blue baseball cap.

Stolen vehicle recovered

On Sunday May 14, 2023 at 11:50pm the Kawartha Lakes Police received a report of a stolen vehicle. The black, 2017 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from a driveway on Victoria Avenue North in Lindsay sometime between 8:00pm and 23:50pm. Information was shared with surrounding police services.     At approximately 2:00am, the vehicle was located engulfed in flames on Heights Road by the Ontario Provincial Police. Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire.
