Impaired Driving

On June 1st 2025 at 12:49am police responded to a traffic complaint on Mary Street West in Lindsay, ON after an SUV cut off another vehicle narrowly avoiding a collision before mounting the curb.  Officers responded and quickly located the vehicle parked on the roadway in the area of the complaint.

At traffic stop was conducted during which the male driver showed signs of being impaired by alcohol.  As a result of the investigation the male was placed under arrest and was returned to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service.  The accused provided samples of his breath to a qualified breath technician which were found to be over two times the legal limit.

A 18-year-old male from Lindsay was charged with:

·        Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus

 

The vehicle the accused was operating was impounded for 7 days and his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days. 

He was released from custody with a future court date.
