During the early morning hours of June 3, 2026, members of the Kawartha Lakes Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch, in partnership with the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Unit and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Central Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU), executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a residence in Lindsay.
The warrant was obtained as part of an investigation into a suspect wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder out of Saskatchewan.
As a result of the coordinated operation, two suspects were safely taken into custody without incident.
During the search of the residence, officers seized approximately 226 grams of fentanyl, with an estimated street value of $45,200.
The 24-year-old male of Simcoe County stands charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Purpose for the Purpose of Trafficking, 5(2) CDSA
Operation While prohibited, 320.18(1)(a) CC x2
Fail to Comply with Probation, 733.1(1) CC x2
The 32- year -old female of Lindsay stands charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, 5(2) CDSA
Failure to Comply with Release Order, 145(1)(a) CC
Both accused parties appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 3rd, 2026, on all local charges. The male accused was set to be returned on his warrant to attend court in Saskatchewan.
