Media Release July 2, 2025 - B&E and Recovered Stolen Vehicle

Break and Enter

On July 1st 2025 at 7:46am officers responded to a call in the area of Golden Mile Rd and Highway 7 for a break and enter. 

A homeowner was awoken hours earlier after hearing noises in their residence.  Upon investigating the source, they found a male inside the home who fled upon being discovered.   Later the complainant was alerted to more noises coming from a neighboring residence which was known to be unoccupied.  They investigated and found that this residence had also been broken into and there was significant damage to the home.  They observed that a suspect was still inside and immediately called police.

Officers quickly arrived and located the male who was taken into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation a 47-year-old male from Lindsay, ON was charged with:

·       Break, Enter a dwelling house with the intent to commit indictable offence x 2

·       Mischief Over $5000 x 2

·       Breach of Probation x 2

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

On the morning of July 1st 2025, a complainant reported that their pick-up truck had been stolen sometime overnight from a residence on William St N, in Lindsay.

At 1:34pm the complainant spotted the vehicle on Lindsay St S and watched as it was abandoned by two suspects in the parking lot of a local business.  Police were called as the suspects ran from the vehicle during a brief confrontation with the complainant.

Officers arrives and quickly located the suspects who were taken into custody without incident.  The stolen vehicle was returned to the owner.

As a result of the investigation a 20-year-old male from Janetville, ON was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000. 

The accused was released with a future court date.
