Drugs and Bail Violations
A 21-year-old Scarborough male is in custody after a traffic stop which occurred on August 22, 2025.
Just before 12:00pm the Kawartha Lakes Police received a report of a vehicle being occupied by three males who were in possession of a firearm. The vehicle was located by officers and a high-risk traffic stop was conducted on St Patrick Street in Lindsay, ON where they were safely taken into custody.
Investigation into a rear passenger revealed that he was released in February 2025 for several firearms offences with a house arrest condition to remain in his residence at all times unless in the presence of his surety, who was not in the vehicle. A search incident to arrest also found him to be unlawfully in possession of percocet tablets.
As a result the accused was charged with Fail to Comply with Release Order and Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Hydromorphone. He was transported to the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay, pending a bail hearing.
Impaired
On August 23, 2025 at 2:37am, the Kawartha Lakes Police received a 9-1-1 call for a report of an impaired driver in the area of King Street in Lindsay, ON.
Patrol officers quickly located the vehicle occupied by a female driver and several children. A traffic stop was conducted on William Street North where an impaired driving investigation commenced. Police formed grounds to believe that the driver was impaired by alcohol who was placed under arrest. The investigation also revealed that the accused was in breach of release conditions along with several provincial offences.
A 34-year-old woman from Woodville, ON was charged with:
· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
· Failure or refusal to comply with demand
· Fail to Comply with undertaking x 2
The vehicle was impounded, and the accused driver’s licence was suspended for 90- days. She was released to a future court date.
Bail Violations
A 43-year-old male from Norland, ON is in police custody after an Impaired Driving investigation which occurred on August 25, 2025.
At 7:46pm the Kawartha Lakes Police responded to a complaint of a pickup truck in the area of Mary Street West and Albert Street South in Lindsay, ON which was swerving in and out of its lane nearly causing a collision.
The vehicle was located in the area by responding officers and a traffic stop was initiated. During the investigation the driver he was found to be prohibited from driving and wanted by police for failing to comply with probation. He was also bound by a release order with the condition to not associate with any person with a criminal history. Investigation into one of the passengers found them to have a criminal history.
As a result of the investigation the accused was charged with:
· Fail to comply with release order
· Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
· Driving while under suspension
The accused was transported to the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay, pending a bail hearing.
