FULL-TIME SPECIAL CONSTABLE(S) – Station Duty Officer

PURPOSE OF POSITION
The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service is a progressive police service responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our community. Station Duty Officers will be assigned to a platoon and assist front line staff with many of their duties including
a) Completing and assisting with administrative tasks and reports
b) Assisting front line staff with administrative duties
c) Crime scene security and traffic direction as required
d) Ensuring the secure custody of persons and assisting with virtual court proceedings
e) Transporting persons in custody and under charge of the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service, from inside and outside of the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service jurisdiction.
Job Description
Workdays will consist of rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
Complete Motor vehicle collision reports reported at headquarters
Manage property turned in at front counter
Manage person(s) in custody at the police station including virtual court appearances
Prepare release and court documents
Crime scene security
Traffic direction
Document service

Minimum Requirements
• must be at least 18 years of age
• must be a Canadian citizen or legally eligible to work in Canada
• must possess a secondary school diploma or equivalent
• must possess a valid Class G driver's license (full privileges)
• must be of good moral character and habits
• must be physically and mentally able to perform the duties of the position

The starting salary for this position is $29.50/hour.
