Impaired driver arrested
On Saturday September 17, 2022 at 12:48am the Kawartha Lakes Police received a call from a concerned tow truck driver about a possible impaired driver. The tow truck driver had been called to remove a vehicle from the ditch that had left the roadway on Elm Tree Road in Lindsay. While in the process of hooking the disabled vehicle up, the driver of the disabled vehicle returned to the scene in a second vehicle. During the investigation, officers determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed him under arrest. 51-year-old David Lotton of Cameron has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on October 27, 2022.
