Shoplifter arrested

A 34-year-old Linday woman is facing charges after an incident at a Kent Street West business on Sunday.

The accused is currently bond by a probation order with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. At approximately, 8:10pm on December 3, 2023 officers were called to the business on Kent Street West by staff reporting that a woman had concealed merchandise in a bag and left the store without paying. With the assistance of video surveillance, police identified the individual who was located and arrested.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Lindsay woman is charged with; theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and fail to comply with probation order. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on January 11, 2024.
