Purse Theft Arrested

On Wednesday, November 1, 2023, Kawartha Lakes Police were called to the area of Russell Street West and William Street South for the report of a stolen purse. When they arrived officers learned, that while exiting a business the victim had her purse pulled from her shoulder. During the investigation, information was provided that a credit card belonging to the victim had been used at multiple Kent Street West businesses. Officers reviewed video surveillance and located the suspect still in the area.

As a result of the investigation, 43-year-old Lindsay women was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Theft Under $5000.00
  • Use of Credit Card X2
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Failure to Comply with Probation

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on November 2, 2023.

 

Search Warrant Executed

A 40-year-old Lindsay man is facing multiple charges after a search warrant Wednesday afternoon.

On November 1, 2023, Kawartha Lakes Police entered into an investigation regarding a housing unit takeover at a residence in the area of Bond Street and William Street North. During the investigation, it was learned, the resident was being held against their will. As a result of the investigation, officers from the Kawartha Lakes Police Service with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police Tactics and Rescue Unit conducted a search warrant at the residence.

As a result:

40-year-old Bradley Hicks, of Lindsay has been arrested and charged with:

  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Imitation Firearm – Use while committing offence
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or bodily harm
  • Failure to comply with undertaking X3
  • Failure to comply with release order

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on November 2, 2023.
