Male arrested for uttering death threats
A 55-year-old Lakefield man is facing several charges after an overnight incident.
On Thursday, October 19, 2023, Kawartha Lakes Police were made aware of a dispute between two family members. Officers learned that a verbal dispute between family members escalated to include threats against a female victim and a male known to the family. As a result of the investigation, Kawartha Lakes Police with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police executed search warrants at two locations. During the search, officers arrested the accused, who was in possession of a small quantity of fentanyl and cocaine. Officers also located ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old Lakefield man was arrested and charged with:
- Uttering threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm X2
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance X2
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Fail to Comly with Probation Order
It was learned the accused was also wanted on a warrant by the Peterborough OPP. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on October 23, 2023.
Male arrested for being unlawfully in a dwelling
A 39-year-old Fenelon Falls man is facing charges after a disturbance overnight at a Sussex Street residence.
At approximately 12:43am on Friday, October 20, 2023, officers were called about a disturbance at a Sussex Street residence. Upon arrival officers learned that a male at the location had been causing a disturbance and unlawfully entered a residence. The male was found inside the residence and arrested.
As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old Fenelon Falls man has been charged with cause disturbance and unlawfully in a dwelling. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on November 23, 2023.
