Stolen Vehicle Investigation

Kawartha Lakes Police Service is investigating after a vehicle was stolen from a William Street North driveway.

On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, officers were made aware of the vehicle theft. It is reported that the vehicle was taken from the driveway of a William Street North residence, sometime between 6:00pm on Tuesday October 17, 2023 and 6:50am on October 18, 2023. The vehicle is described as being a black, 2014 Dodge Ram pick-up truck with tinted windows, bearing Ontario license plate “BL74928.”

Assault with a Weapon Arrest

A 56-year-old Haliburton man has been charged after an incident Wednesday morning.

At approximately 9:00am on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, officers were called to a possible assault at a residence in the area of William Street North and Bond Street. Officers located two males, who are known to each other that had been involved in a physical altercation. Through investigation officers learned that the victim had been assaulted with an object. The victim received medical attention by Kawartha Lakes Paramedic for his injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 56-year-old Haliburton man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on November 23, 2023.

 

Uttering Threat Charge

On Wednesday, October 18, 2023 Kawartha Lakes Police responded to a residence on Lindsay Street North for a reported threat. A Kawartha Lakes staff member was conducting business at this location when they were threated.

As a result of the investigation, a 52-year-old Lindsay woman has been charged with uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on November 23, 2023. ,

 

Shoplifter Arrested

A 23-year-old Lindsay woman is facing theft charges after an incident Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately, 5:00pm on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 officers were called to a Kent Street West business. Store staff had observed the woman select items and leave without paying. Officers located and arrested the female a short distance away.

As result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Lindsay woman has been charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and fail to comply with probation. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on October 19, 2023.
