Break and enter suspect sought
Kawartha Lakes Police are investigating after a Needham Street business was entered twice in as many days.
On Tuesday September 5th, 2023 police were called to the business, it was reported that unknown suspect(s) had entered and stole items sometime over weekend. Police were called back on September 6th after the business had been entered during the overnight hours. The suspect(s) broke into the business using an abandoned tool, smashing windows to enter the location. Kawartha Lakes Police Forensic Identification Officer attended the scene and collected physical evidence.

Impaired driver arrested
On Tuesday September 5th, 2023 at 10:10pm Kawartha Lakes Police received a report of a vehicle being operated by a possible impaired driver on Lindsay Street South. Officers attended the area, located and stopped the vehicle. The driver was showing signs of impairment and was transported to the police station, where a drug recognition expert concluded his ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by drug. As a result of the investigation, a 58-year-old Omemee man has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on October 12, 2023.
