Theft of trailer under investigation

The Kawartha Lakes Police are investigating the theft of a dump trailer from a Lindsay Street South business in Lindsay on August 23, 4:20am. A pickup truck was captured on video surveillance, as it enters the property and moments later leaves pulling the 2006, 10ft, dual axel, dump trailer with licence plate “R2072H”.

Impaired driver arrested

On Friday August 25, 2023 at approximately 5:45am Kawartha Lakes Police received a report of a vehicle being operated by a possible impaired driver on Lindsay Street South. A witness observed the vehicle travelling on the wrong side of the road on Mary Street West in Lindsay. Officers located the vehicle stopped on Durham Street West. While speaking with the driver the officer observed signs of impairment and further observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service where a Drug Recognition Expert conducted a Drug Recognition Evaluation. As a result of the investigation, a 65-year-old Lindsay man has been charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and two Highway Traffic Act infractions. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on September 28, 2023.
