Impaired driver arrested

On Wednesday August 16, 2023 at approximately 8:15pm the Kawartha Lakes Police received a report about a vehicle that was being operated by a possible impaired driver in the area of King Street and James Street in Linday. Officers located the vehicle in parking lot on Kent Street West. While speaking with the driver the officer observed signs of impairment. During the investigation, alcohol was located inside the vehicle which was readily available to the driver. As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old Oakwood man has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), and one charge each in contravention of the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence and Control Act. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on September 14, 2023.
