Theft arrest

On Saturday July 22, 2023 at approximately 5:30am police received a report of theft from an Adelaide Street North address. Individuals were observed entering a carport, taking numerous items before leaving the area. With the assistance of video surveillance officers identified, located and arrested the suspect a short distance away from the location. 33-year-old Lindsay woman has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on August 31, 2023.

Impaired driver arrested

On Sunday July 23, 2023 at approximately 11:50pm Kawartha Lakes responded to a motor vehicle collision on Mary Street West in Lindsay. A vehicle travelling on Mary Street West struck a parked vehicle. During the investigation the officer observed open alcohol in the vehicle. While speaking with the driver signs of impairment were observed and the driver was arrested for impaired driving. As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old Lindsay man has been charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and one infraction each in contravention of the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence and Control Act. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on August 31, 2023.
