Impaired driver arrested

On Friday May 5, 2023 at approximately 1:50am while on patrol, a Kawartha Lakes Police officer stopped a vehicle on Caroline Street in Lindsay to investigate a driving infraction. While speaking with the driver the officer observed signs of impairment by drug. As a result of an investigation, a 50-year-old Oshawa man has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drug and one infraction contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on June 8, 2023.

Kawartha Lake Police are reminding drivers, whether you are impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired and driving under the influence of either is a criminal offence. If you suspect a driver is impaired, call 9-1-1 immediately.
