Impaired driver arrested

On November 22, 2022 at 8:54AM the Kawartha Lakes Police received a call from a concerned citizen reporting a male passed out in a running in a Kent Street East parking lot. Officers located the vehicle, while speaking with the driver they observed signs of impairment and located drugs inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested for impaired driving. As a result of the investigation, 33-year-old Jesse Thomson of Lindsay has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, failure or refusal to comply with demand and possession of a schedule I substance. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on January 5, 2023.

 

KLPS investigating four separate vehicle thefts

The Kawartha Lakes Police Service is investigating four vehicle thefts occurring overnight.

At 4:36AM on November 23, a black, 2022 Dodge Ram Longhorn 1500 pickup truck bearing Ontario license plates, “BT75296” was stolen from a Crestwood Avenue driveway. Video surveillance shows two unidentifiable suspects in the area.

A second vehicle was stolen from a Mary Street West driveway, sometime between 8:00PM November 22 and 8:00AM on November 23. The vehicle is described as being a grey, 2022 Toyota Highlander with Ontario license plates, “BYSR417.”

A third vehicle was stolen from a Dobson Street driveway. The vehicle is described as being a black, 2022 Dodge Ram GT pickup truck with black side steps and a tonneau cover with Ontario license plates “T33321.” Video surveillance shows an unidentifiable suspect in the area at 5:20AM on November 23, 2022.

A fourth vehicle was stolen from a driveway on Durham Street East sometime between 9:00PM on November 22 and 9:20AM on November 23. The vehicle is described as being a red, 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck with Ontario license plates “BN82507.”
