Male arrested for theft

On January 3, 2022 at 2:43pm Kawartha Lakes Police responded to a Kent Street West business for a theft report. Store staff observed a male loading several items into a shopping cart and walk past the checkouts. He proceeded to exit the store without paying for the items. The male was detained in the parking lot by staff until police arrived and continued the arrest. At the time of arrest the male was wanted on warrants held by the Kawartha Lakes Police Service. Charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 is 29-year-old Colin Martin of Lindsay. The accused was held for bail and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice.
