RIP Police Service Dog “Strike”

We Have Lost Retired Police Service Dog Strike
StrikeStrike – Badge #K9-02 (November 05, 2002 – May 02, 2015)
Strike served the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service from September 2004 to May 2011.
During his time with the service he was utilized to locate lost or missing persons, track wanted individuals, locate evidence and assisted with the seizure of countless narcotics.
Strike was instrumental in keeping our streets and neighborhoods safe.

After his retirement in May of 2011 Strike continued to live with his handler, Constable Mike Stratford and his family.
Strike passed away peacefully in the arms of Constable Stratford on May 2nd.
The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service, along with Constable Stratford would like to thank Steve Goldie and Nutro Foods from The Horse and Hound along with Doctor Rick Oliver and staff from Kawartha Animal Hospital for their ongoing support.
They continued to provide food and veterinary care for Strike while in his retirement.
They continue to support the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service Canine Unit.
