KLPS Lucky To Have Such Great Community Partners

We would like to take a moment to acknowledge some community partners that have stepped up to assist recently. Without their contributions we would not be able to provide some of the services that we do. We would like to acknowledge the contributions of:

Hallmark Canada – With the generous contribution of Hallmark Canada Larry the Lion has now joined our Bears on Patrol to assist us with children in crisis. In March 2015 Roger, from Hallmark, delivered 100 Larry the Lions to KLPS for distribution to anyone in need of a “stuffy”. These soft cuddly lions have already been welcomed by a number of children who have found themselves in unwelcoming situations. Thanks very much to Roger and Hallmark Canada.

Giant Tiger – In April of this year our Community Service Officer, Carrie Jenkins, was in search of white t-shirts to be utilized for an engaging activity with the grade 6’s in her BRAVO program.  Giant Tiger immediately stepped up when asked about community partnering and donated 300 shirts to the cause.

Carrie has used the shirts as part of her Bullying/cyber bullying lesson (which has been this week).  She has taken the time to dye the shirts pink, and the kids are having a blast!  In class she speaks about how one person can make a difference and uses the “pink shirt day” as an example.  She has purchased fabric markers and the kids are decorating their t-shirts with positive anti bullying messages.  It has been a great experience and a lot of fun.  As you can see from the picture, it was a big hit with the kids.

So, a big thank you to Giant Tiger!!
