Shoplifting and Assault Police

A 30-year-old Lindsay man is facing charges after a shoplifting incident Tuesday evening.


On February 4th 2025, at approximately 8:13pm police attended a Lindsay alcohol retailer after it was reported that a male, who had been previously trespassed from the business, entered the store and was asked to leave. The male did not and selected an item, then concealed it before exiting the store without paying.

Police were able to identify the male using video surveillance, and at 10:31pm located the male placing him under arrest. The accused assaulted three officers during his arrest and detention at the Kawartha Lakes Police Service as well as uttering death threats.

The accused was charged with Theft Under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Fail to Comply with Release Order, Assault Peace Officer x 3 and Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
