Theft arrest
On Monday April 17, 2023, at approximately 7:30am while on patrol an officer observed a female running from a William Street North business being followed by a store employee. During the investigation police learned the female had selected a bag full of merchandise and left without paying.
A 35-year-old Lindsay woman has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 25, 2023.
Theft arrest
At approximately 3:45pm on Munday April 17, 2023, officers were called to a Kent Street West business after a store employee reported a person had left the store without paying for merchandise. Officers located a man matching the description a short distance away and took him into custody without incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Lindsay man was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 25, 2023.
Man arrested for refusal to provide breath sample
On Monday April 17, 2023, at approximately 8:30pm the Kawartha Lakes Police received a call from a concerned citizen about a driver parked on Settlers Road for over two hours. An officer located the vehicle, while speaking with the driver observed signs of impairment and located alcohol in the vehicle that was readily available to the driver. The officer determined the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed her under arrest.
As a result of the investigation, 44-year-old Lindsay women has been charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 25, 2023.
