Kawartha Lakes Police Media Release April 17, 2023

Theft arrest

On Saturday April 15, 2023, at approximately 4:00pm the Kawartha Lakes Police were called to a Kent Street West business after store staff reported a person had left the store without paying for merchandise. Officers located a female matching the description given to police a short distance away and took her into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Lindsay woman is charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 25, 2023.

 

Assault arrest

24-year-old Lindsay women is facing a charge after an incident on Lindsay Street South on Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 5:00pm on Sunday April 16, 2023, officers were called after a female was assaulted while attempting to exchange property with an acquaintance. During the exchange, a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation when the accused slapped the victim in the face.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Lindsay female has been charged with assault. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 25, 2023.
