Theft arrest

On Friday March 31, 2023, at 5:25pm the Kawartha Lakes Police were called to a Kent Street West business after staff observed a female concealing merchandise. When police arrived, they observed the female leaving the store with a shopping cart containing numerous stolen items. The female was placed under arrest. During the investigation, the female was found to be in possession of property stolen from another local business and a personal cheque which did not belong to her.  34-year-old Lindsay women is charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 X4, she will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 11, 2023.

 

Impaired driver arrested

On Friday March 31, 2023, at approximately 9:10pm an officer on patrol observed a vehicle as it entered and parked in a lot on Lindsay Street South. The driver exited the vehicle and the officer observed signs of impairment. As a result of an investigation the driver was placed under arrest for impaired driving. Further investigation revealed the driver was suspended. As a result, a 37-year-old Lindsay man has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drug and one Highway Traffic Act infraction for driving while under suspension. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 11, 2023.

 

Male arrested for causing a disturbance

On Sunday April 2, 2023, at 11:20pm the Kawartha Lakes Police received multiple calls to a Melbourne Street East residence for a man causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located the male yelling in the street and placed him under arrest for causing a disturbance. At the time of his arrest the male was found to be breaching a condition of his probation order.  As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Lindsay man has been charged with causing a disturbance and fail to comply with probation order. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 11, 2023.

 

Theft arrest

On Sunday April 2, 2023, at approximately 2:50pm the Kawartha Lakes Police were called to a Kent Street West business after store staff observed a male conceal merchandise in a reusable shopping bag and leave without paying. The male exited the store, entering another business where he was witnessed concealing more items before leaving. Officers located the male a short distance away and placed him under arrest. As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Lindsay man has been charged with theft under $5000 X2, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 X2 and breach of probation X2. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 11, 2023.
