Drug Offences Arrest

On Sunday March 26, 2023, at approximately 6:45pm Kawartha Lakes Police responded to the area of Melbourne Street East and St Lawrence Street for the report of a male in distress after falling off his bicycle. While emergency medical services were being provided the male was found in possession of a large quantity of drugs and a homemade edged weapon. As a result, of an investigation the male has been arrested and charged. 33-year-old Jesse Thomson of Lindsay has been charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking X2, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and fail to comply with probation order. The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on March 3, 2023.

Male arrested for theft

On Tuesday March 28, 2023, at 4:10pm Kawartha Lakes Police were called to a Kent Street West business after a male left the store with items he had not purchased. With the assistance of store staff, police located and arrested the male a short distance away. As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Lindsay man has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.

Female arrested for uttering threats

On Monday March 27, 2023 the Kawartha Lakes Police were contacted after a staff member of the Children’s Aid Society was threatened by a client. On Monday, the staff member reminded the client she was not to attend the office as a result of police imposed conditions. A short time late, the staff member received over 20 threatening text messages. The client then called and left a threatening voice message. With the assistance of the Toronto Police Service, the 29-year-old Toronto women was located and arrested on March 28, for uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm X2. The accused was held for bail and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay located at 440 Kent Street West on March 29, 2023.
