Update – Person well-being check
On Thursday January, 25, 2023 at 3:38pm, Kawartha Lakes Police responded to a report of check well-being of an elderly male walking along the Trans-Canada Rail between Lilac Road and Peace Road.
Due to the severe weather conditions, police immediately conducted an extensive search of the area with the assistance of canine and drone operators from Peterborough Police Service and OPP Central Region Emergency Response Team. A neighbourhood canvass of the area was conducted.
Police did not locate the male and did not receive any other calls concerning a male walking in the area. There have been no missing person reports received.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.

Male arrested for impaired driving a stolen vehicle
The Kawartha Lakes Police Service has arrested a suspect in relation to a vehicle reported stolen on January 24, 2023.
On January 25, 2023, police received two reports about a vehicle being operated by an impaired driver on Kent Street West in Lindsay. Officers attended the area and located the stolen vehicle, as a result of an investigation, 27-year-old Michael Thomas of Lindsay has been charges with possession of property over $5000, operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while prohibited, possession of a schedule III substance and fail to comply with probation X3. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on January 27, 2023
