Check well-being call

On January 25, 2023, at 3:38pm., Kawartha Lakes Police responded to a report of check well-being of an elderly male walking on the Trans-Canada Rail between Lilac Road and Peace Road. The male was reported to be wearing inappropriate clothing for the weather.

Due to the severe winter weather conditions, police immediately initiated a search of the area with the assistance of canine and drone operators from Peterborough Police Service and OPP Central Region Emergency Response Team. A neighbourhood canvass of the area was conducted.

The male is described as: 70-80 years old, white, tall, thin build, long beard, wearing a brown work style coat (Tough Duck or Carhartt), knitted toque, not wearing pants.

As a result, of the extensive search the male has not been located.

Police have not received any other calls concerning a male walking in the area. There have been no missing persons reports received.
