Assault investigation

The Kawartha Lakes Police Service is investigating an assault that may have occurred in the morning hours of Friday January 20, 2023. The victim reported to police that they had been assault by three people on Friday morning while walking in the area of the Lindsay Recreation Complex. The victim received medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries. Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to contact the Kawartha Lakes Police Service at 705.324.5252. Impaired driver arrested

On Saturday January 21, 2023 at just after 2:00AM, a Kawartha Lakes Police constable stopped a vehicle travelling on Victoria Avenue South in Lindsay, in order to investigate a traffic violation. While speaking with the driver, the officer observed signs of impairment. During the investigation the driver refused to provide a breath sample into an approved screening device. 18-year-old Kyler Robinson of Strathroy has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, failure or refusal to comply with demand and one charge each in contravention of the Liquor Licence Control Act and Highway Traffic Act. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on March 2, 2023.

Impaired driver arrested

On Saturday January 21, 2023 at 10:42PM, Kawartha Lakes Police were contacted by a Highway 35 South business who reported a driver in the drive-thru who appeared to under the influence. Officers attended the location and located the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, the officer observed signs of impairment and placed her under arrest. 39-year-old Trena Parsons of Fenelon Falls has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on March 2, 2023.
