Impaired driver arrested

On Wednesday July 27, 2022 just after 11:00PM, the Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a report from a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver resulting in a motor vehicle. Police responded to a collision on Colborne Street West, where a vehicle had struck a parked car and rolled over onto its roof. Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue and Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Services attended the scene, the driver was transported to the hospital to be assessed.  As a result of the investigation, 59-year-old Lori Smith of Lindsay has been charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand to provide a breath sample. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on September 1, 2022.

That is why receiving tips from the public about impaired drivers is so crucial to helping the Kawartha Lakes Police Service keep our roads safe for motorists and pedestrians. KLPS investigation Break and enter to Russell Street West business

On Thursday July 28, 2022 at 7:09AM, Kawartha Lakes Police Service were notified that the door of a business on Russell Street was smashed and entry gained. The incident occurred sometime between 10:00PM on Wednesday, July 27 and 7:00AM on Thursday July 28. Police are asking anyone who may have information about this theft to contact them at 705.324.5252. Police investigating theft of chickens

On Thursday July 28, 2022 just before 9:00AM, the Kawartha Lakes Police received a report of eight chickens stolen. The chickens were stolen from an enclosure at a Highway 35 location south of Lindsay sometime overnight. Police are asking anyone who may have information about this theft to contact them at 705.324.5252.
