P.C. Johnston presents Jacob with his fixed bike

An 8-year-old Lindsay boy was the proud recipient of some very good will after his bicycle was reported stolen and found broken to the point it couldn’t be ridden in early September.

On September 11th, 2017 P.C. Brendan Johnston was contacted by 8-year-old Jacob’s parents after his bicycle went missing. After attending at Jacob’s home it was learned that another young boy had come into possession of the bike but when it was returned the bike was found to be broken to the point that it was not able to be ridden by Jacob. After unsuccessful attempts were made to have the bike repaired P.C. Johnston took matters into his own hands.

Knowing that the owners of the downtown bicycle shop, Down to Earth Adventure Outfitters, are always willing to help out those who are less fortunate, he took the bicycle to them to see if it could be fixed. Within several days the owners of Down to Earth called to say the bicycle had been fixed. When P.C. Johnston attended to pick up the bike the owners would not accept any payment for the repairs.

On Wednesday, October 4th, 2017 Jacob attended at Kawartha Lakes Police to pick up his repaired bicycle and agreed to a quick photo op with P.C. Johnston. Enjoy your ride Jacob and many thanksto the great folks at Down to Earth!
