Assault
On March 17, 2025, at approximately 2:48pm the Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to an assault in the area of Queen Street and St Paul Street, in Lindsay.
Witnesses reported that a male victim was chased down by four suspects and assaulted in the parking lot of a local business. During the assault a weapon was used injuring the victim. The suspects then fled the area in a blue sport utility vehicle.
The Criminal Investigations Branch is continuing to investigate the incident.

Impaired Driving
On March 17, 2025, at 4:42pm the Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a report of a fail to remain accident which occurred on Melbourne Street West in Lindsay. A male driver was observed colliding with a parked vehicle and leaving the scene.
Minutes later police received a second call for the male who arrived at a Lindsay Street South business showing signs of intoxication as he exited his vehicle.
Officers arrived and located the male conducting an impaired driving investigation. As a result, the accused was arrested and returned to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service where he provided breath samples showing twice the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.
A 76-year-old Lindsay man was charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drug
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus
He was released with a future court date.
