Media Release – March 13th 2025

Break and Enter

On March 12, 2025 at approximately 3:13pm the Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to a break and enter to a Durham St E residence.

Officers arrived and learned that witnesses observed a male entering into the back door of the residence which was being scheduled for repairs by the landlord.  Police entered and located the accused inside placing him under arrest.

As a result of the investigation:

A 56-year-old Lindsay man was charged with:

  • Break and Enter
  • Unlawfully in a Dwelling House

He was released with a future court date.

Impaired Driving

On March 12, 2025 at 5:54pm the Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a complaint of an impaired driver in the area of Willow Glen Drive and Angeline Street North.

A vehicle description was obtained, and a responding officer quickly located the vehicle in the area of Orchard Park Road and Rogers Road.  The investigation revealed that the male driver was currently under suspension and that he had consumed alcohol prior to driving his vehicle.  He was placed under arrest and returned to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service where he provided breath samples showing twice the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.

A 66-year-old Lindsay man was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drug
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus
  • Driving While Under Suspension

He was released with a future court date.

Shoplifting

On March 12, 2025 at approximately 6:40pm a female entered a Kent Street West grocery store and concealed items before attempting to leave without paying.  Store employees confronted the female who ignored their direction and left the scene.

Officers reviewed video surveillance and positively identified the female.  Shortly after, the accused was located walking on Kent Street West and placed under arrest.

A 29-year-old Lindsay woman was charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation

She was released with a future court date.
