Search Warrant

On February 6, 2025, the Kawartha Lakes Police Service (KLPS) Drug Enforcement Unit with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit and the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit executed a search warrant at a Lindsay residence.

As a result of the investigation two individuals were arrested and the following seized:

  • Cocaine 365 grams
  • Canadian Currency ($2705)
  • Replica firearm

The approximate street value of the seized drugs was $36,000.

21-year-old Malik Blake from Oshawa has been charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Fail to comply with probation

23-year-old Dominic Nieminen of Pickering has been charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Fail to comply with probation

Both accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent St West in Lindsay.

 

Shoplifting

A 36-year-old Lindsay woman is facing charges after a shoplifting incident Thursday afternoon.

On February 6, 2025, at approximately 12:37pm police attended a Lindsay St S. business after it was reported that a female entered the restaurant and stole money from a tip jar before running from the scene.  An initial search of the area was unsuccessful in locating the suspect.  Using video surveillance images police identified the female and officers on general patrol located her in the area of William St N and Peel St at approximately 3:37pm.

The accused was charged with Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.  She was further arrested and charged for outstanding similar incidents of theft and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Shoplifting

On February 6, 2025, at 9:50pm police responded to a Kent St W business for a report of an unwanted person call.  Information received was that two females were currently in the store, one of which was known to be trespassed from the business.

Officers arrived on scene and located the females still inside.  The investigation resulted in both females being placed under arrest and returned to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service.

A 29-year-old Lindsay woman was charged with Theft Under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Probation.

A 33-year-old Lindsay woman was charged with Fail to Attend Court – after having appeared and Fail to Comply with Probation.

Both were released with a future court date.

Warrants

On February 6, 2025, at 4:02pm Kawartha Lakes Police officers on general patrol observed a male walking in the area of William St S and Kent St who was known to be wanted for Failing to Attend Court and Indecent Acts.

A 46-year-old Lindsay man was arrested and returned to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service where he was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
