Firearms charges

On Saturday August 24th, 2024 at approximately 7:20pm Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a call regarding a person possibly in distress just outside Lindsay.  Further investigation revealed the individual had been involved in some sort of an altercation with another person at an address close by.  Police attended the address and received information with regards to firearms.  A search warrant was written and executed at the address and several firearms were seized.  Jeremy Haight a 43-year-old-male from Lindsay was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm X3
• Careless Storage of a Firearm X3
• Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm X 3
• Possession of a Prohibited or restricted Firearm with Ammo
• Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Fentanyl

The accused was held for bail and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay.
