Impaired Driving Arrest
On Monday July 29th, 2024 at approximately 8:15pm Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a call regarding a vehicle with an unresponsive driver parked in a parking lot of a local business in Lindsay. Police arrived on scene and located the vehicle still running and after several attempts police were able to wake the driver up. The driver was assessed by paramedics and cleared medically. Further investigation revealed that the 42-year-old male from Norland was impaired. The driver was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance
In addition to the charges the driver received a 90 -day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7-days.
The accused will all appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on September 12th 2024.
