Impaired Driving Arrests

Two drivers arrested and charged with Impaired Driving over the long weekend.

On Sunday June 30th,2024 at approximately 3:00am a Kawartha Lakes Police Service officer observed a vehicle doing a burn out in the area of Lindsay Street and Queen Street in Lindsay.  The officer attempted to immediately stop the vehicle, however it continued at a high rate of speed before eventually coming to a stop in the area of Logie Street and Maryknoll Street. Further investigation revealed that the 17-year-old male from Lindsay was impaired. The driver was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Flight from Police

On, Monday July 1st, 2024 at approximately 7:47pm Kawartha Lakes police responded to a call for a possible impaired driver in the area of Hennessey Crescent in Lindsay.  The vehicle was located at an address in the area and subsequently a 43-year-old-male from Lindsay was arrested and charged with the following offence:

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

In addition to the charges both drivers received a 90 -day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicles were impounded for 7-days.

The accused will all appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay.
