Traffic stop leads to drug charges.

On Sunday June 9th, 2024 at approximately 4:40pm the Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Tim Hortons on Mount Hope Street Lindsay.  Subsequently the vehicle was stopped in the area.

Further investigation revealed that there were drugs in the vehicle.  As a result, the lone occupant a 33-year-old female from Peterborough was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking -Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking -Opioid (Other than heroin)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on July 18th, 2024.
