Kawartha Lakes Police Service Media Release May 24th 2024

 On Thursday May 23rd 2024, the Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a complaint of a sexual assault.  The Criminal Investigations Branch conducted an investigation and were able to quickly identify a suspect.  A search warrant was conducted at an address in Lindsay where the Forensic Identification Unit attended to gather physical evidence.

As a result of the investigation a 33-year-old male from Lindsay who cannot be named, so as to protect the identity of the victim was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Kidnapping
  • Sexual Interference
  • Sexual Assault
  • Assault
  • Assault cause Bodily Harm
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm
  • Invitation to Sexual Touching

Police believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no further threat to public safety.

The accused was held in custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May24th, 2024.
