Kawartha Lakes Police Service Media Release February 8th, 2024
Impaired Driving Arrest
On Wednesday February 7th, 2024 at approximately 12:57pm the Kawartha Lakes Police Service along with Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue and Kawartha Lakes Paramedics attended a Motor Vehicle Collision on Kent Street in Lindsay. Information at the time of the call was that a vehicle had struck a parked vehicle in a parking lot and then caused a collision on Kent Street.
Upon arrival police were advised that the vehicle responsible for the collisions had fled the scene. Thankfully, witnesses were able to provide police with a description and licence plate of the vehicle which had fled.
As a result of the collisions one male had to be transported to Ross Memorial Hospital with non -life -threatening injuries.
Shortly after uniform officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle. Further investigation revealed that a 59-year-old Lindsay male was Impaired. He was subsequently charged with the following offences:
- Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous Operation
- Failure to stop After Accident X 2
The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on March 21st, 2024.
