Mischief and Assault Charges

On Saturday, November 4, 2023 at approximately 4:00am Kawartha Lakes Police received a report of a window being broken on York Street North. Officers attended the area and located a suspect. During an investigation, the female spat on the officer and after being handcuffed the female bit the officer.

As a result of the investigating, police have charged a 28-year-old Lindsay women with mischief under $5000 and assaulting a police officer. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on December 14, 2023.

Theft Arrest

On Monday November 6, 2023 at approximately 9:50am a male entered a William Street North business, selected merchandise and left the store without paying. Kawartha Lakes Police were notified of the theft and with the assistance of video surveillance identified the suspect who was located and arrested. As a result of the investigation a 51-yeao-old Lindsay man has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on December 14, 2023.

Robbery Investigation

On November 6, 2023, at approximately 5:50pm police were called to a Kent Street West bank about a robbery. A man was depositing money at the bank when he was approached in the ATM lobby by a man requesting money. The man followed him away from the location and physically attacked him, attempting to grab his wallet before fleeing. The suspect is described as; a white male, wearing a black hooded sweater, black pants and brown shoes.

Impaired Driver Charged

On November 6, 2023, at approximately 4:30pm, Kawartha Lakes Police were called to a Kent Street West business for a report of theft. Police observed video surveillance of the theft and received a description of the suspect’s vehicle. Officers searched the area, locating the vehicle in a parking lot on Kent Street West. While speaking with the driver the officers observed signs of impairment. As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old Cannington man has been charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on December 14, 2022.
