KLPS investigating a stolen vehicle

On Wednesday, March 1, 2023 the Kawartha Lakes Police were called to a Mary Street West address for a report of a stolen vehicle. A white, 2019 Honda Ridgeline truck was stolen from the driveway of a Mary Street West residence sometime between 6:00PM on February 28 and 11:55AM on March 1, 2023. The stolen truck has an Ontario license plate, “BB52635.”

Theft investigation theft from change room

On Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at approximately 10:30am, the Kawartha Lakes Police received a report that a male, had his pants containing his wallet and keys stolen from the men’s change room at the Lindsay Recreation Complex after briefly leaving them unattended.

The Kawartha Lakes Police remind the public not to leave any valuable items unattended, in public spaces, outside on your personal property or inside your vehicles. Taking pro-active preventative action will reduce the risk of theft and deter criminal activity.

 

Theft arrest

A 24-year-old Lindsay man is facing charges after an incident Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 2:15pm on March 1, 2023, officers were called to a business on Kent Street West about a shoplifting incident. Upon arrival, officers learned the male had been observed by staff concealing items in his clothing. The male paid for one item, before leaving without paying for the concealed items.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Lindsay man was arrested and charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and fail to comply with undertaking. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on April 13, 2023.
