One male charged after stolen vehicle recovered

On Sunday February 26, 2023 at 12:27PM the Kawartha Lakes Police received a call regarding a male attempting to gain access to vehicles in a parking lot located on Highway 36 South in Lindsay. The male was observed leaving the area in a white Mazda sedan. While on route officers learned the vehicle observed had been reported stolen from Durham Region.  At 4:26PM an officer located the stolen vehicle travelling on Highway 36 South, conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver. A 42-year-old male from Ajax has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, fail to comply with probation X3 and failure to comply with release order. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on April 6, 2023.
